My Shibboleth

For awhile tonight, I sat and really thought about what my sibboleth would be. After all the words that I processed, I came up with the right one. I believe that my shibboleth is love. Many people describe love as an emotion, a feeling. I believe that love is what our worlds revolve around. Love can either scar us or it can make us the happiest people alive.

I myself found love at the age of fourteen. And although many people told me, "Jamee, you're crazy to think you actually love a boy at fourteen. You're way too young!," I ended up marrying my first love and high school sweetheart three months ago at eighteen. It wasn't easy to get to the point that my husband and I are in life, and it's still not. I've made many sacrifices, just as he has. While he's in the Army stationed in San Antonio, I'm here at home. I miss him more and more everyday, but because of love, I know I wouldn't want my life to be any other way.

  1. This has to be the sweetest thing. I have known you all my life and we have grown up across the street. We have been best friends, and have a ring to prove that. But then a few weeks later you also had another ring on that same hand, your engagement ring, at the time. It was so pretty, and of course I was so envious, but I knew she was about to marry the guy of her dreams. Yes, Jamee you do have all the weight on you being so young right now and married, with all the divorce rates increasing, but do not pay attention let love be where your focus is at with your love of your life.

  2. That's really nice! Most of us do not have that kind of luck like you Jamee haha. But I see how it is hard for you because he lives so far away. I wish you the best of luck with your marriage and hope you two have a great life ahead of you!

  3. I get what your saying exactly. I've only been with my girlfriend for almost 9 months and I already just know. Its honestly just a natural thing that comes to you, and when it hits you, you just know.
